In academia, seeing your research being published by someone else sucks, but the consolation prize is that you know you had the right instincts choosing what to research.

I was trying to figure out what this post had to do with Abbie Hoffman's '72 "Steal This Book", but I guess the answer is nothing whatsoever.

Too bad he tossed it, it may not have done well but would have been an interesting read in anycase.

I personally know someone who was writing a thriller about "the Jesus bloodline" just before Dan Brown.

(In retrospect, I think that author had more respect for historical facts, but he wasn't so adept at writing a page-turner.)


Ideas are worthless. Unless you find sucker to sign the cheque. Er i mean... Unless you make them happen.

I too had the idea of building a catalogue of available coeds at my university, and yet, I am not a billionaire.
